What is the law chattel?

In general, the Chatel law is a law "for the development of competition for the benefit of consumers." This is a French law aimed at protecting the interests of consumers as part of an evergreen contract as the case of a mutual agreement health. Indeed, it regulates the contractual relationship between the insurer and its insured, and lays down certain obligations of all insurers in the context of mutual termination of a contract, to allow each consumer to prevent news of their contract .

For an easier termination of a contract mutual

Before the law Chatel, the automatic renewal of a contract has been provided for mutual protection of consumers of the risk of being without supplementary insurance. However, it was at the same time allowed the insurers not to part with their policyholders, and then to prevent them to terminate their contracts with each other. To this end, members have struggled to terminate their contracts because most of them do not even know neither the date nor the date of termination for lack of information from their insurance .

But since the adoption of the Chatel law in January 2008, the mutual termination of turns in favor of consumers. In fact, the Chatel law requires insurers to better inform their policyholders. For this, each insurer must remind them the deadline provided for terminating the contract when sending the notice of maturity. And the insured must receive the notice due no later than 15 days before the date of termination. However, if the insured receives the letter after which the castle law makes available an additional 20 days from the date of mailing of the notice to terminate his contract. And if these provisions of the Chatel Act were not met by the insurer when the insured has the right to terminate the contract at any time without penalty.

This therefore results in a certain facility of mutual cancellation, thanks to the Chatel law. And this is what is meant by such termination Chatel law.
