An attempt to scam the use

While I was in a position of looking for work, one day I received an email signed by a certain Joe Anderson working on behalf of Amazon Recruitment and being mandated by the Oil and Gas Company TopGon UK for the hiring managers in a contract of expatriation.

While there is a recruitment agency called Career Amazon, the only company TopGon Oil and Gas mentioned on the Web is located in Togo ...

The mail tells you directly very attractive conditions that come with the job to be filled (housing and company car ...) are also much more explicit than the function definition!

Under the pretext of being in agreement with the British immigration policy, you said there will be no maintenance!? and on the sole basis of your resume, you will be selected (or not) for a trial period of two weeks.

Very doubtful, I still sent my CV to the email address provided, including the extension bizarrement@yhaoo.com was rarely used by companies.

A few days later I received another email, still called Joe Anderson, where I learned that my resume was selected in short list for a job containing the exact wording of the last item listed on my CV ... a bit like a lottery winner!

Attached to the mail, a Word document to graphic crude and anachronistic surrounded by a frieze which shows a amateur vulgar.

This letter is in fact supposed to be a job offer with an effective date of assuming office close enough (about one month), history of you put pressure on the urgency to undertake the administrative procedures.

A very attractive net monthly remuneration (but plausible for this type of work) you clearly stated and highlighted in an exaggerated manner.

Moreover, it is mentioned that your first two month's salary will be paid in advance to allow you to pay your installation fee.

A performance bonus and many fringe benefits you are also generously offered.

The enamel then tells you the procedure to integrate as quickly as possible the company with its headquarters based in England.

Citing the law in force in the UK, you are just asked to get a work certificate urgently.

Contact and email address you have provided. The wording of the message containing moreover the term "lawyer" to strengthen the credibility ...

As proof of your good will, you are requested to forward the sum to obtain the said certificate. This expense will be reimbursed of course when you joined the company ... ghost!

This scam is fortunately easily detected because the process used is crude. However, more cleverly disguised, the fraud could be much more difficult to identify.

However, I was surprised to read posts on forums where others have received the same email even wondered if it was indeed a forgery. Like what a scam, although rough, ends all the same cast doubt in the mind.

This kind of wrongdoing I think is even more cynical that it is based in part on the relative vulnerability of people looking for work, ready to go abroad for a better future .
